In this installation, the previous gutter was directed into the raised bedding.  Water used to accumulate and seep into the surroundings creating puddles of water on the sidewalk and eroding the tuck pointing creating a possible leak into the home and causing mold.   With the rain barrel placed under the gutter, we were able to direct the water away from the home and further extending the water onto garden area of the bedding and even further if you wanted to extend the hose.
